A Lovely Day


I rise before the day is old
And wonder what I will behold!
Perhaps I'll see a flower, new,
As it's first kissed by morning dew!

Look! There's a bluebird, poised for flight!
It's wings sparkle in the sunlight!
A breath of air, so clean and clear,
Spells out the fact that spring is here!

The sun's so bright! The sky's so blue!
A sweeter sight, I never knew!
At night, I bow my head and pray
To thank God for a lovely day!
