Hiding in shadows
lurking in gloom
liars conspire
bringing heartbreak and doom

Souls languish in anguish
despairing , dejected
never wanting love
always shunned and rejected

Forlorn with misery
despondent and bleak
1 second of tranquil
the dismal ones seek

With agony they writhe
tormented with fears
empty , forgotten
alone with their tears

And as for the rest, they stand at the gate
contented , serene they ecstatically wait
and then with delight, pearly gates open wide
and the faithful flock Jesus welcomes inside.
